After a minute of taking this supplement, my throat had a burning sensation. It was very uncomfortable and feels as if you had a hot pepper stuck in your throat. I immediately threw the bottle away. Definitely NOT recommended.

Addressing the person above who complained of a burnt throat, just take a spoonful of your favorite food after swallowing the cap. I also get reflux if I don’t do this. Don’t let this minor delivery problem keep you from ALA’s benefits.

  4. IN A NUTSHELL: RARE MEDICINAL PRODUCT THAT HAS NOTHING GOING AGAINST ITS USE

Most products that have a potent effect on the human body also cause negative externalities that physicians call, SIDE-EFFECTS. This Alpha Lipoic Acid in 100 Mg capsules, carries with it many benefits, yet few if any risks, side-effects, harmful interactions or toxicity.

    WHAT IT IS! [UNDER-CONSTRUCTION]

Alpha lipoic acid is a vitamin-like antioxidant. It is called a “universal antioxidant” because it is both fat and water soluble. Alpha Lipoic Acid can be made within the human body and is found in a few foods, such as, yeast and liver.

Perhaps of even more importance, is Alpha Lipoic Acid’s ability to regenerate other antioxidants back to their active states. Among these, are Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Co-enzyme Q10 and Glutathione, to name a few.

I generally take 3-4, 100 mg. capsules per day, with L-Carnitine, and with other anti-oxidants.

I take this with acetyl-l carnitine from the same company for metabolism maintenance. I’m not fat at all but the higher your metabolism the more energy you have. The product works like it should and taken with the other I’ve noticed significant improvement in memory and concentration.

I think the review who gave it one star because it burned their throat didn’t swallow it completely. Make sure the outer part of the capsule is completey moistened by saliva in your mouth before you swallow or it will definitely get stuck. If the capsule gets stuck it will break open which is very unpleasant in the mouth or the throat. It burned becase its acid! I take it on an empty stomach and I notice what feels like very very mild indigestion, but it never bothers my or causes major discomfort, and goes after a little while or if I eat something. If you’re looking for lipoic acid, I recommend this, but the 240 capsule bottle might be an even better value if you take it 3 times I day.
