Product Description
Spirulina has held the fascination of researchers and health enthusiasts for many decades. It is a blue green (micro) algae found in oceans in the tropics and subtropics, and in some lakes, particularly those rich in salts. It is also grown in outdoor tanks specifically to be harvested as a nutritional supplement sold mostly in health food stores. Spirulina is surprisingly composed of 60-70% protein and contains all the essential amino acids required by the body, which is very useful for vegetarians and those on therapeutic fasting regimes. Along with a near complete package of required vitamins and minerals, Spirulina also contains: The essential fatty acid gamma-linoleic acid (GLA) an important anti-inflammatory agent and hormone regulator. The nucleic acids RNA and DNA, which may facilitate human DNA repair and faulty genetic patterns. Betacarotene, a powerful anti-oxidant. Cholorphyl, which cleanses the blood and tissues and is known to help remove heavy metals and other difficult toxins.
